Searching the database for public cameras

To search for public cameras, click the search icon on the left side of the toolbar on the main screen (thumbnail view). Select an existing search query or touch "Custom" to run your own.

There are nearly 3900 cameras in the database (900 or more are currently disabled). They are organized by country and can be filtered by camera type or name. Names are currently generated by GeoIP locations and will eventually be modified to accurately reflect the cameras instead of using this generic approach.

It is not possible for Live Cams to know where a camera is located unless the camera is hosted on a web page that describes the location. The authors of Live Cams attempt to discover where these cameras are by performing exhaustive internet searches and updating the database periodically. In many cases the information in our database is incorrect. We encourage our users to inform us (via the support email account) of specific camera details that they may know about. Cameras may disappear from time to time as owners shut them down for maintenance or change their IP addresses. If the camera disappears for an extended period we may disable it in our database to limit the number of empty thumbnails that appear.
